Thornville Operation Concluded in Pietermaritzburg

RASRE has successfully concluded a large-scale operation in Thornville, Pietermaritzburg, conducted from 18 to 30 March 2026 under a mandate from Eskom.

The intervention formed part of efforts to support lawful land management on a site identified for future infrastructure development. Prior communication had been issued to affected parties regarding the status and intended use of the land.

The operation was executed through coordinated deployment across multiple teams, including specialised Tactical Response capabilities, ensuring structured implementation and on-site stability throughout the duration of the project.

The scale and duration of the operation required sustained operational discipline, logistical coordination, and adherence to established legal frameworks.

This project highlights the critical role of structured, lawful interventions in supporting infrastructure development and maintaining compliance within rapidly developing environments.
