The Red Farms has initiated a Crop Farming project where the Company has partnered with local farmers in various places to start crop production and share in the profit. Red Farms will function and operate as a Cooperative Business Participation Management Farming Project co-opting emerging Farmers into the various Management positions available on the project and having a stake in profits as delegated to each Management position.
The Red Ants have embarked on development of a Food Processing Factory that is currently under construction. Red Ants will be Canning and Bottling processed food for distribution to informal traders through the South African Association for Informal Traders and to local retailers as well as export of excess produce.
Red Ants are also involved in the poultry sector. They produce chicken and chicken eggs for mainly our key market who are informal traders and the retail sector. Through our training programs, we have managed to engage personnel around our production facilities to provide labour.
The Red Ants Piggery is a medium sized operation established to run a piggery farm producing Pork and related produce to support our key market who are mainly informal traders and retail stores.
Aquaculture farming involves the raising of fish commercially in tanks or enclosures, usually for food. A facility that releases juvenile fish into the wild for recreational fishing or to supplement a species’ natural numbers is generally referred to as a fish hatchery.
As part of the Agri Park, the Red Ants have cattle, goats and sheep which they farm for meat. A sizeable portion of the Red Farms has been developed specifically for this project. Qualified personnel are employed to ensure that the livestock is kept healthy and well fed.
